Smoke and Spring

so mr T is in Salt Lake City. officially. for his summer job. I'm excited for him, or trying to be. The last Sunday he was in Rexburg was Easter Sunday. forever ago.
Since I'm living in the new apartment, he moved most of his stuff here and took only the necessities with him to utah. So this left the place a great mess. not even organized clutter.
on Easter morning he came over to help me move some of it in before he left. well he fell asleep and I decided, being the cute domestic that I am, to cook some chocolate chip pancakes before church while he was sleeping. Yeah.
I have never cooked in a stainless steel pan before. Let alone something like pancakes. super difficult right? Long story and lots of smoke later. They were scary. as demonstrated. So Tanner cleaned up the pan and went without pancakes. Sorry sir.

This past weekend I got to go down and see him at his aunt and uncles. It was a beautiful weekend. It was nice to enjoy the spring weather with my friend.
And the most exciting thing is that the next time I see him

will be the last time I see him

before the wedding!

Introductions

Apartment, this is Tanner and Stephanie.
Tanner and Stephanie, this is your apartment.

We got the keys to our new apartment today and it's glorious!!! Can't wait to make it my very own!!
Yay for cupboard space!

Please note the sage green ceiling fans.

PS Today we've been engaged exactly 9 months.

Weekend

Can't believe it's been a week since we were headed home.
It felt so good to be going south towards family, and warm weather. And after such a glorious weekend it was painful to come back to scraping ice off my windshield in the mornings.
So we signed a contract today.
I guess we've got an apartment. It's super cute & I'm really excited about it. It is scary as all get up to think about, but I can't wait to have an entire fridge to ourselves.
We were over at Tanner's cooking the other day and I couldn't remember if any of the sour cream containers belonged to me, and if one was mine, was it the one past expiration? It'll be nice to have all the shelves ... even if they are mostly empty mostly all the time.
I'm loving living with Jennifer for now. This morning Jennifer put together the best spread for breakfast - peaches and cottage cheese with other fresh fruits. It was so glorious. I only aspire to someday be that domestic! (I did get 8 cookbooks for my bridal shower - so that at least could be a start =)

The Start

This may very well be for nobody other than Tanner and myself - online journaling of sorts.
But I think couple-blogs are cute.

I'm 100% moved out of my house and living with Jennifer. It's so glorious. Since I was a senior in high school, Jennifer and I talked about being roommates at BYU-I, and its finally happening even though it's under quite different circumstances than I'm sure either of us pictured.

As the date of the wedding draws nearer and school and work begin to keep us busier, I find myself treasuring even the simplest moments I can steal with Tanner.
Today for example, he came in for a haircut and fell asleep in my chair. His head-bobbing didn't bother me at all, until I tried to trim around his ear and nearly lobbed it off. Poor guy is so tired.

This week will be amazing ... and probably long. See, we're leaving for Vegas on Thursday and are both in so much need of a vacation. I'm so homesick I'm embarassed. And Tanner is just excited to go shooting with the boys. Hopefully it will remedy all remaining stresses and gear us up for the last leg!!
